Artist statement:

These two songs are about two very different sides of love that I have experienced. I have been in a few long-term relationships over the past decade. "Waiting" is about that time in between those long relationships. It's about that rush of being single again and not wanting any commitment while still yearning for that love and attention that you had, even if it's from someone you just met. I originally recorded the vocals on my laptop's internal mic so I wouldn't forget the idea. I ended up using that original recording because I felt the distant, slightly muddy quality suited the dreamy, late-night vibe of the song.

"Rainy Day in LA" is about the start of a new relationship and forbidden love. It's knowing that the relationship could cause some problems and rock the boat, but letting the heart win anyway. I feel that the universe is always guiding me (and all of us), and as much as I always want to use logic, I know I have to go with my heart. In this case, I did just that, and I definitely had to deal with the consequences, but things in the end worked out better than I could have imagined.
